ABOUT US
WHO WE ARE
Financial Sector Deepening Somalia is a locally registered Non-Government Organization with the aim to expand and strengthen the financial system of Somalia by increasing the availability and access to financial products and services. To achieve this, we focus on supporting financial institutions to develop accessible and affordable financial products and services including but not limited to savings, loans, insurance, and investment opportunities for a wide range of people in Somalia, especially the excluded.
FSD Somalia also supports the development of infrastructure and systems needed to ensure the development of a sustainable financial system in Somalia. We also engage in work with the central government to ensure an enabling environment for the sustainable growth of the financial sector in Somalia by working with the regulatory institutions to ensure the appropriate legal and regulatory framework necessary for a healthy financial system. This includes support for the development and improvement of the payment infrastructure and systems. We also support financial literacy and education programs as well as ensure the stability and soundness of financial institutions.
The ultimate goal of FSD Somalia is to promote economic growth and development by providing individuals and businesses with the tools and resources they need to invest, save, and manage risk effectively. By increasing access to financial products and services we reduce poverty, promote entrepreneurship, and support sustainable economic growth.
